Glimpses of Horror

ABOUT

Glimpses of Horror is a metal music project inspired by 80’s horror movies, synthwave, thrash guitar riffs, and the old Norse gods. All music is composed, played, and recorded by Aaron Cannata.

A lot of influence for this project comes from the cool 80’s horror movies like Pet Cemetery, Children of the Corn, Vincent Price and the Fathers of Horror. Another heavy contributor is the mystery and mysticism of the old Norse gods. The band “Dance with the Dead” is ultimately what kicked this project off; they proved that instrumental synth wave and metal guitars are meant to be together.

To keep with the 80’s sound and vibe, most of the guitar parts are played on Jackson guitars using a simulated Marshall stack amp in Apple Logic Pro X. Bass parts are played on an 80’s vintage Hondo Alien headless bass using a simulated bass head and cabinet. Synth and drum patches are mainly from the Logic Pro X library that have been modified to get a bit more out of the sound. All tracks are mixed and produced in Apple Logic Pro X.
